Welcome to MSD’s website for the new Water-In-Basement (WIB) Response Program, which began January 1, 2004.
The WIB Response Program provides cleanup assistance — after a sewer backup into a private home or business has occurred — at no cost to the property owner or tenant, provided the backup was caused by a problem in the public sewer. The program also provides assistance for filing damage claims and preventing future sewer backups. It is the first of its kind in the country.
The program hopes to completely eliminate these types of sewer backups over the next five years. Our goal is no more basement backups, period. Through this new program, MSD can now help customers who experience sewer backups and proactively protect them from future damage. The program will improve the services we currently offer customers and help us continue to be good stewards of our community and the environment.
