Rain Gauges
MSD maintains
a network of 37 rain gauges throughout Hamilton County. 30 bucket tipping
gauges report to a central base station, via radio signal, following
the ALERT protocol. All data is stored and managed through DIADvisor software to support
a number of MSD operations, while the IFLOWs network also gathers this data for
flood forecasting. The rain gauges are manufactured by HydroLynx.
MSD posts data from its rain gauge network to its Radar Rainfall site.
