These meters are recording depth and velocity of sewage flow in pipes of various sizes. The data provides input to the Model to calibrate system response to various storm events. After inspection and evaluation, the best possible sites are selected for installations. Flow conditions and the physical configurations of the manholes were taken into consideration during the selection process. Meter data is continually analyzed through scatter graphs and hydrographs to detect and remedy any problems that may arise during the monitoring period.
MSD currently maintains long-term flow monitor sites in support of the System Wide Model and others to support various short-term projects.
