Cincinnati, August 23, 2007- The Board of County Commissioners recently approved funding for the Taylor Creek Pump House Construction. Managed by the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD), construction is scheduled to begin September 24, 2007 and is expected to be completed by December 31, 2008. The awarded construction cost of the project is $3,383,000 to Building Crafts, Inc.
The project will permit functionality of recently constructed sewers segments (CIP 96-25, phase 1, 2 & 3) near the Taylor Creek WWTP. The project also includes the replacement of existing mechanical bar screens and ultra-violet (UV) disinfection at the Taylor Creek WWTP.
This project is part of MSD's ongoing Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which is focused on continually updating and improving the operation of MSD's wastewater collection and treatment systems.
Every day, the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD) manages the effective collection and treatment of more than 200 million gallons of wastewater and actively maintains 3,000 miles of sanitary and combined sewers that run through the 49 municipalities and townships of Hamilton County. Owned by Hamilton County and operated by the City of Cincinnati, MSD is committed to continually maintaining and improving its wastewater collection and treatment systems for the betterment of both public and environmental health.
