The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD) is scheduled to install a new sewer line in central Delhi Township.
The new 8- and 12-inch sewer lines will be installed to eliminate the Palisades Park Pump Stations 1 & 2, which are old and subject to overflows.
The project will begin the week of September 24, 2007 and continue for 8 months, depending on weather and the contractor's schedule. Final restoration will be completed in Spring 2008.
Construction of the new sewer will begin at an existing manhole (No. 3883), on Hillside Avenue, then move in a northwesterly direction from Hillside Avenue through a wooded area, where it will divide into two sanitary sewer lines, ending at the two pump stations located on Palisades Drive.
Construction activities will generally take place between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekend work may be needed.
Every effort will be made to minimize disturbances during construction, but dust, noise, and vibrations should be expected in and around the construction area. Minor traffic disruptions may occur during construction along Hillside Avenue. Bypass pumping will be required to provide uninterrupted sewer service while the new pipe is being installed.
The project is part of MSD's ongoing Capital Improvement Program, which is focused on updating and improving the operation of MSD’s wastewater collection and treatment systems.
