Springfield Township, August 23, 2007 -The Board of County Commissioners recently approved funding for the construction of the Millbrook No.1 Pump Station Upgrade Project. Managed by the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD), construction is scheduled to begin August 28, 2007 and is expected to be substantially completed by February 27, 2008.
This project will replace and upgrade the existing Millbrook No.1 Pump Station and eliminate PSO 799, located at 9545 Leebrook Drive, in Springfield Township, Hamilton County, Ohio. The existing pump station was built in 1964 and has a pumping capacity of 100 GPM. The upgraded pump station will have a pumping capacity of 320 GPM and a backup electric generator.
Work under this project will include the demolition of the existing pump station, construction of the replacement pump station, upgrade of approximately 440 feet of force main from 4 to 6-inch, addition of an underground generator, and the relocation of existing telemetry equipment. Construction contracts were awarded to Bray Arnsperger Excavating Co. in the amount of $242,499.50 for the general work; and to B&J Electrical in the amount of $96,678 for the electrical work.
This project is part of MSD's ongoing Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which is focused on continually updating and improving the operation of MSD's wastewater collection and treatment systems.
