September 13, 2007. The Board of County Commissioners has recently approved funding for the Krohn Conservatory Sewer Relocation. Managed by the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD), construction is scheduled to begin on September 17, 2007 and scheduled for completion on November 17, 2007. The awarded construction cost for the project is $144,010 and to be completed by Trend Construction.
The purpose of the project is to redirect sewage flow from Krohn Conservatory to existing sewers located in Eden Park Drive. Existing storm water flow from a portion of Eden Park Drive is to be redirected to existing storm sewers in Martin Drive. As a result, construction will be occurring at and adjacent to the Eden Park Drive and Martin Drive intersection.
This project is part of MSD's ongoing Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which is focused on continually updating and improving the operation of MSD's wastewater collection and treatment systems.
Every day, the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD) manages the effective collection and treatment of more than 200 million gallons of wastewater and actively maintains 3,000 miles of sanitary and combined sewers that run through the 49 municipalities and townships of Hamilton County. Owned by Hamilton County and operated by the City of Cincinnati, MSD is committed to continually maintaining and improving its wastewater collection and treatment systems for the betterment of both public and environmental health.
